Jamie Lissow’s career is a classic case of being in the right place at the right time—with the right sense of humor. For years, he was a working comedian, grinding it out in clubs across the country. Then, a chance connection with Greg Gutfeld and Kat Timpf changed everything, turning him into a Fox News star almost overnight.
Lissow’s big break came when he started appearing on Gutfeld!, where his quick wit and relatable humor made him an instant hit. His Dry Bar Comedy special, Something Awesome, racked up over 20 million views, proving that audiences couldn’t get enough of his style. But his journey to fame wasn’t exactly planned.
Years ago, fans kept mistaking Lissow for Gutfeld due to their uncanny resemblance. After one show, a group of people rushed up to him, raving about his “brilliant performance”—only to realize they’d confused him with the Fox News host. The mix-up led to an introduction, and soon, Lissow was making regular appearances on Red Eye, Gutfeld’s earlier show.
At first, Lissow’s comedy wasn’t political. He built his act on everyday observations, especially about life as a divorced dad in Alaska. But as he spent more time on Fox, his material evolved.
“I used to avoid politics,” he says. “But then the world got weird. Suddenly, saying things like ‘Men shouldn’t compete in women’s sports’ or ‘People shouldn’t lose their jobs over vaccine choices’ made you a villain. That’s when I realized—I’m not on the left or the right. I’m on the side of common sense.”
Now, he’s co-hosting his own Fox show alongside Gutfeld and Timpf, the very people who helped launch his TV career. For Lissow, it’s proof that sometimes, success isn’t just about talent—it’s about being ready when opportunity knocks.
