Her move to General Hospital in 1973 made history, as she became one of the first women to play a doctor in a soap opera. Her character, Lesley Webber, was a fan favorite for over a decade before her dramatic exit in 1984. Yet, in true soap opera fashion, she returned years later—proving her enduring appeal.
Tributes have poured in from fans and colleagues, including Susan Seaforth Hayes, who recalled Alexander’s warmth and talent. “She was a true artist and a dear friend,” Hayes shared.
