Deep in grief after losing his wife, Richard Miller felt God lead him to an orphanage in 1979. There, he found nine Black baby girls, abandoned and facing separation. Remembering his wife’s dying wish for him to not let love die, Richard saw this as a divine calling. Despite having no money and facing certain criticism, he adopted all nine sisters, trusting in a higher purpose to provide. His decision was an incredible leap of faith, one that his community called foolish. He sold his possessions for diapers and worked tirelessly, often praying for strength through exhausting nights.
The years were a testament to faith in action. Richard’s love became a living ministry, teaching his daughters about resilience, compassion, and the true meaning of family. He showed them that God’s love manifests through selfless action. The girls flourished under his care, each growing into a woman of character and purpose. Now, 46 years later, the fruit of that faith is undeniable. The nine sisters stand united around their aging father, a living portrait of grace and fulfillment. Their story is a powerful reminder that sometimes, the most extraordinary blessings begin with a single, faithful yes to a calling that seems impossible, proving that love truly never fails.
