Ayden Beeson, a 17-year-old high school senior and recently crowned Prom King, tragically lost his life in a drowning accident at Rathbun Lake. The heartbreaking incident unfolded on June 26, 2024, when Ayden disappeared underwater while swimming and never resurfaced. Despite a swift response from rescue teams, he was found an hour later in deep water and pronounced dead at the scene.
Ayden was a well-known and admired student at Centerville High School, where he excelled in both football and tennis. His sudden passing has left his peers and teachers heartbroken. Superintendent Mark Taylor described him as a “wonderful kid” who treated everyone with kindness and respect.
Tributes poured in on social media, with his tennis coach, Tyler Baze, recalling Ayden’s relentless work ethic and positive attitude. The school district also shared a touching message, emphasizing how deeply he would be missed.
