The Silent Drive That Said It All

The road was quiet, the kind of peaceful that makes you forget time exists. A husband and wife drove side by side, the car humming at a steady 40 mph. He was relaxed, eyes on the asphalt ahead. She, however, fidgeted in her seat, as if sitting on a secret too heavy to carry.

Then she dropped it. “I want a divorce.”

No reaction. The car nudged up to 45 mph.

She pushed harder. “I’m serious. And don’t try to talk me out of it. Your best friend? Yeah, he’s been keeping me satisfied for months.”

Silence. The speedometer climbed to 55 mph.

“The house is mine,” she declared. 60 mph. “The car too.” 65 mph. The engine roared as she listed demands—boat, money, everything. Outside, the world blurred past, the car now hurtling toward a bridge.

Suddenly, she faltered. “Aren’t you going to fight for anything?”

He finally spoke, his voice smooth as butter. “Nope. I’ve got all I need.”

She stared. “And what’s that?”

He smirked. “The airbag.”

Cue stunned silence.

Elsewhere, an older couple clinked champagne glasses for their 35th anniversary. A fairy appeared—because why not?—and offered them each a wish.

The wife beamed. “A world tour with my love!” Poof! Tickets appeared.

The husband scratched his chin. “Well… I’ve always wanted a younger wife.”

The fairy arched a brow. “Wish granted.” A flick of her wand—and he aged 30 years on the spot.

Moral of the story? Be careful what you wish for… and always check your seatbelt.
