A Hotel Parking Lot Surprise That Backfired Completely

Share

A man decided to meet up with his mistress at a hotel, thinking it was the perfect plan for a secret afternoon. As he pulled into the parking lot, his heart nearly stopped. Parked right near the entrance was his father-in-law’s car. Panic set in immediately. If his father-in-law saw him there with another woman, it would ruin everything. His secret would be exposed, and his marriage would likely be over. Thinking quickly, he made up an excuse to his friend, telling her something had come up and they would have to reschedule. She was confused and disappointed but left without argument.

Alone and frustrated that his plans were ruined, he felt a surge of anger toward his father-in-law. In a moment of pure spite, he walked over to the man’s car and broke both of the side mirrors right off. It felt like a small, satisfying revenge for the inconvenience. The next day, he decided to play it cool and visit his father-in-law. He casually mentioned that he had noticed the car’s mirrors were missing, trying to act innocent and concerned. To his surprise, his father-in-law became visibly upset. When asked why he was so angry, the older man exploded with frustration, explaining that he had lent the car to his wife—the narrator’s mother-in-law—the day before. The man’s attempt at revenge had accidentally targeted the wrong person, creating a whole new problem and a brilliantly ironic twist.
