Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Toothpicks: My Unconventional Revenge

Share

There’s nothing quite like coming home exhausted from a 14-hour ER shift to discover you’re locked out of your own house. Not because you lost your keys, but because someone deliberately jammed a toothpick into the lock. Again.

After the second incident, my brother helped me install a camera. The footage revealed my ex Josh – the one I’d caught emotionally cheating – playing some bizarre game of lock sabotage. His reasoning? He thought if he made me need help, I’d call him, and we’d magically reconcile.

Instead, I called Connor – my platonic friend who looks like he bench presses motorcycles for fun. Our plan was simple: catch Josh in the act. Connor answered the door wearing only my pink bathrobe, wrench in hand, while I filmed the whole thing. The video of Josh’s terrified face as he ran away lives rent-free in my mind.

Posting it to TikTok was the cherry on top. Watching the views climb while Josh panicked about his reputation was sweeter than any apology he could’ve offered. Sometimes the best revenge isn’t legal – it’s creative, public, and utterly humiliating for the perpetrator.
