A Father’s Unthinkable Crime

The tragic death of Sara Sharif remains one of the most disturbing cases in recent British legal history. Her father Urfan Sharif’s confession letter, found near her battered body, detailed how he “snapped” and killed his 10-year-old daughter after subjecting her to prolonged abuse.

Medical evidence presented at trial revealed the shocking extent of Sara’s injuries – from burns inflicted with a heating iron to multiple fractures and bite marks. The judge described the cruelty as “almost inconceivable” when sentencing Sharif and his accomplices last December.

Now serving his life sentence at one of Britain’s most secure prisons, Sharif has reportedly learned that even among hardened criminals, certain actions are unforgivable. Sources indicate he was violently attacked by fellow inmates disgusted by his crimes against a child. Using improvised weapons, his assailants left permanent scars on Sharif’s face and neck.

While prison officials work to protect vulnerable inmates, the attack underscores the unique dangers faced by those convicted of harming children. As Sara’s mother Olga Domin said in her victim impact statement, her daughter is now “an angel who looks down on us from heaven,” free from the violence that cut her life tragically short.
