A routine stroll along Fort Lauderdale’s shore turned into a moment of wonder when a Michigan family discovered a gigantic wooden cross lying in the sand. Roughly 20 feet long and encrusted with sea life, the cross looked as though it had traveled far before finally reaching land.
For Greg Gay, who was there when it washed up, the timing felt meaningful. “The ocean doesn’t just give up something like this for no reason,” he said. “It felt like we were meant to find it.”
The discovery quickly took on a spiritual significance. Frank Talerico, who owns a hotel nearby, revealed that his sister had been praying earlier that morning after a disturbing dream. Shortly after, the cross appeared. “Some things you can’t explain,” he said. “This feels like a blessing.”
Photos of the cross went viral, with many interpreting it as a divine signal. “It’s a wake-up call,” one believer commented online. “God is reminding us He’s here.”
The cross now rests near Talerico’s hotel, where visitors can see it up close. Whether a message or a marvel of the tides, its sudden arrival has stirred something deep in those who’ve witnessed it.
