The farmer’s new rooster turned out to be the most enthusiastic employee the farm had ever seen. Before the sun reached its peak on his first day, he’d mated with every hen in the coop – all 150 of them. By afternoon, he’d moved on to the turkeys and ducks. By next dawn, even the bewildered cow found herself part of this rooster’s amorous agenda.
The farmer shook his head at this display of boundless energy until the day he found his prize rooster lying motionless in the yard with vultures gathering overhead. “Well, you asked for it, you little sex fiend,” the farmer muttered as he poked the limp body.
Imagine his surprise when the rooster cracked one eye open and, gesturing upward with a wing, whispered urgently: “Shhh! Can’t you see I’m baiting our dinner?”
