McDonald’s fans are in an uproar after spotting unexpected price increases across the menu. What was once a go-to for affordable fast food is becoming noticeably more expensive, with hikes on everything from burgers to McFlurries.
The changes are hard to ignore. A Double Cheeseburger, already up from £1.99 to £2.29 over the past two years, now costs £2.49. The Big Mac, a staple for many, has climbed to £4.89, and delivery orders push it past £5.50. Even the nine-piece McNuggets, a crowd favorite, have seen a 10p increase, with delivery prices soaring even higher.
The Saver Menu, designed for budget-conscious eaters, isn’t safe either. Small fries, hamburgers, and mayo chicken wraps have all gone up by 10p, while drinks and coffee now cost more too. The Mini McFlurry, once a sweet deal at £1.29, now sits at £1.49.
Unsurprisingly, customers are venting online. Reddit threads are filled with complaints, with some saying they’ll switch to local chip shops for better value. “£32 for two meals and McFlurries? That’s insane,” one user wrote. Others pointed out that delivery apps inflate prices further, but many feel the base costs are already too steep.
McDonald’s insists the increases are necessary to maintain ingredient quality, citing British beef and premium chicken as key factors. They also remind customers of ongoing deals, like the Wrap of the Day and app discounts. But with prices creeping up across the board, some loyal fans are starting to rethink their fast-food choices.
