Julz O’Brien, the transmasculine sibling of actor Dylan O’Brien, has called out what they see as a disconnect between their brother’s public statements and private behavior. The revelation comes after Dylan’s comments about having a trans sibling resurfaced in LGBTQ+ media.
“Glad I could deepen his experience in the world,” Julz wrote sarcastically on Instagram, noting the Teen Wolf actor hadn’t reached out during major life events including top surgery recovery and their recent birthday. Public records confirm Julz underwent gender-affirming surgery last December.
Dylan had earned praise from co-stars and media for his supportive comments during the “Ponyboi” press tour, where he played a supporting role in the intersex-led thriller. However, Julz’s social media shows no recent interactions with their brother, with their last joint photo dating back to summer 2023.
